Calendar Card

As I was looking around Jo's site It's My Creative World I came across this amazing calendar card!! She use to teach card making and has taught this one...maybe she can be persuaded to make a tutorial on this. I don't know about you, but I thought this was absolutely amazing beyond words. It looks like a lot of work...but imagine giving this to someone - they would be thrilled to receive this!!

Don't you agree this definitely belongs to be a part of this blog!!

I haven't used my Tombow makers in a long time but broke them out for this. I like the way the fur looks on the kitten.

Here is the card opened a little

This is the calendar up close a bit.

Open a little more.

I found a web site on line that you can download the calendar. (There was no link but if I find it I will add it to this).

You can make this card simple or really fancy with embellishments and decorative papers.

Melanie Muenchinger Stamps

Here is one more designer that I think everyone will find something they love. You have most likely heard of Melanie Muenchinger, her site is Hands, Head and Heart where you will find it loaded with ideas using her stamps, helpful hints and also for specific sets and to many tutorials and ideas to count. Gina K of course with Gina K Designs and Stamp TV carries all of her sets. Gink K did a blog hop over the weekend and I discovered the world of Melanie Muenchinger - the stamps below are ones on the top of my very long wish list. She has so many different sets for any occasion - but you know me flowers and butterflies are my weakness!!!

She is an Illustrator and Senior Designer
And you are about to find out why!!!

To get an idea of her style and some of her sets I decided this time to show the whole set and one project - and of course follow the the item description to get your own set and the other link to see how to create what you see!!! All projects were completed by Melanie herself (I do believe) No they are not in any sort of order - however, I am going to show the first sets that I discovered over the weekend....starting with!!!

http://www.shop.ginakdesigns.com/images/BringtheBling.gif
This is the very first set of hers that caught my attention!
Imagine not only stamping these - but embossing them!!!! These are screaming to be embossed IMHO.
This set is actually very versatile to me...think of all the things you could do with them individually.
I saw one card where the a second center flower was cut out and popped up onto whole array.

You know I had to show sets with butterflies!

Choosing one more to show you was almost impossible to decide...

Easel Card

This lovely card was created by Mindy at Scrappy and Piggy. Now obviously you don't have to make this using a Grand Nestie...but I thought it was lovely how she made this. And I personally LOVE that stamp that she used - I love the fact that she includes links on the products she used..hehe I must find and have that stamp!!! While I was browsing her blog...subtle hint - please if you find a tutorial you enjoy please go to the original creator and leave them some love!! Anyways I found out she is on the design team for Cutter's Creek!! If you have ever looked around my blog you have seen that Kim is amazing!!! Ok enough if listening to me....here is the tutorial!! And as always scroll down to find a video!!!

Easel cards are very popular and you see them everywhere.  Using the Grand Nestabilities, you can make a  really good size easel card.  For this card I used the Labels 1 Grand Nestabilitie.  I cut a piece of cardstock to 6 x 12 and folded it in half, then I laid it on the mat of my Grand Calibur.  I made sure that part of the die was above the fold of the card so it would stay in one piece after I cut it.
tutorial 003 [1280x768]
I held my paper down with a couple pieces of eclipse tape so that it would stay put and not move around.  This tape is made for masking and it will not damage your paper when you remove it.  I ran the paper through the Grand Calibur.  It cut 2 layers of thick Bazzil cardstock with no problem.  Next I put the top part of the card on my scor pal and scored it so that it would fold in half.
tutorial 004_edited-1 [1280x768]
It was easy to do with this die since the point is right in the middle.
The next step is to fold the top half of the card in half and put some adhesive on it.
tutorial 008_edited-1 [1280x768]

Then you need to cut another labels 1 die out of the same cardstock.
Line the piece up with the top of the folded part and stick them together.

Now your easel card is complete!  It’s time to decorate it.  I used the 2nd smallest die for the card base, so I used the smallest one for my decorative paper.  Then I colored an adorable Boho Gilli stamp and cut it out with a labels 8 nestie.
tutorial 012_edited-1 [1280x768]
Here is a picture of the easel card opened up.  You need something to  stop it and hold the top up when it’s open.  I cut a fancy spellbinders tag and popped it up with some pop dots.  I stamped a couple of heart swirls and a sentiment from Stamping Scrapping Designs on the tag.  I filled the centers of the flowers with some I-rock gems.  I also used I-rock gems on Gilli’s earrings.  I finished the card off with a nice big flower and a brad I made with the I-top brad maker.    Here is a picture of the card when it is flat- perfect for being mailed.

I hope I have inspired you to use your Grand Calibur and nestabilities to make your own easel card.

As always here is a video - I know I am NOT the only one that needs a video as well LOL.
OH MY!!! I am doing the happy dance here!!! Both tutorials use Spellbinders and have the most adorable girl stamps on them!!! I am going to try to contact her she called it Sassy Suzy but didn't understand where she got it from! Her name is thenorsugirl  and her blog as been removed - someone please help me locate her!!! Well, onto the video!! Double Easel Card

I have made a number of the regular easel card...but I love this double one. Christina from Card Making Magic has made this great tutorial - and isn't the card stunning also!!

Step 1
You will need an A4 card in the colour of your choice.
Then you will need to score and fold the card in half. (The black dashed line)
One of the halves then needs to be measured in half, but don't crease it.
(The pink dashed line shows where you need to CUT the card)

Step 2
The piece of the card that you have cut needs to be creased and folded in half, so that it stands as pictured.
You will now have two equal sized panels.
The photo shows where you will need to add the glue...to the lower part only.
I use a wet glue for strength.

Step 3
Measure two more panels from seperate card to fit the front.
They need to be no bigger than the actual card so that you can get it in a standard envelope.
I find it easier to lay the card down to attach these pieces of card.

Step 4 Cut two pieces of pretty paper slightly smaller than these panels and Mat and Layer them onto the easel part of the card.
Line the bottom inside of the card with some pretty paper of your choice.
You will need to make two centre pieces and place them on some deep foam pads or silicone glue to raise them up.
These are the pieces that will hold the easels open.
I have added a mine at different levels so that the easels are staggered.

I have added some Ribbon to one of my panels.
But you can add any embellishments you may have in your stash.
I have added some Pearls for the Butterfly trail.

I hope you enjoy making this lovley Double Easel Card, and don't forget to add the photos to the Gallery

Triple Easel Card & Triple Twisted Easel Card

You can find the posting for twisted card and double twisted card, easel card and the double easel card on this blog....However!!!!!
For those of you brave enough Christina at Card Making Magic also has tutorials for triple versions of these cards...If you feel brave...follow the links to find out how she made these stunning cards!!!

Here is the Triple Easel Card

Here is the Triple Twisted Easel Card

Double Twisted Easel Card

As I mentioned while I was looking for twisted easel card I noticed there were several variations...well here is one of them.. I just love Christina from Card Making Magic tutorials - how easy are there to understand...can it get any easier?? I was so tickled when she first told me I could share them!! So without further delay the Double Twisted Easel Card!!

Step 1
You will need a piece of card that measures 20.5cms square
(8" square)

Step 2 Then you will need to score and fold the card in half. (The black dashed line)
One of the halves then needs to be measured in half, but don't crease it.
(The pink dashed line shows where you need to CUT the card)

Step 3
Take each of the panels and fold the inner edge down to the outer edge.
(The photo shows you how it should look )

Step 4 Cut to pieces of card 10.25cms square (4" square)
Apply glue to the lower triangle of the card only.
(The photo shows you where)

Step 5
Carefully attach the two pieces of card to the triangular flaps.
Make sure that they don't interfere with the opening of the card.

I find it easier to lay the card down as shown here to attach the pieces of card.
And if you use wet glue you will have a little time to re-adjust before the glue sets

Line the bottom inside of the card with some pretty paper of your choice. You will need to make a centre panel and place it on some deep foam pads or silicone glue to raise it up.
This is the piece that will hold the easel open.
I have added a sentiment to my centre and surrounded it with Flowers
You are now ready to add any Embellishments you may have in your stash.
I have added smoe Gemstones and Pearls to the centre of the flowers.
Sprinkle them with some fine glitter for added ooomph!
I hope you enjoy making this lovley Double Twisted Easel Card, and don't forget to add the photos to the Gallery Page
As always I need a video so that I can really understand...she only goes by usyungs - so if anyone knows who this is and how to contact her please let me know!

Twisted Easel Card

Christina from Card Making Magic has great tutorials and always easy to follow. Here is her tutorial on making this twisted easel card. As I was looking for a tutorial I discovered there are several different variations.. So I guess I will be working on getting them - so look for them on other posts!! Below this tutorial is a video for everyone that needs both ( I do!!)
So here is Christina with her twisted easel card.....

Step 1
You will need to fold your card into a square.
(Mine is 15cms)(6")

Step 2 You will also need another piece of card the same size as your card square.
Leave this to one side for now.

Step 3
Open the card out and take the top left corner and fold it into the center.
This creates the easel part to the card.

Step 4 Apply a wet glue to the lower part of this triangle only or you will not be able to open the card as an easel.
(As shown in the photo)

Step 5
Add the other square of card to this glue and press in place.
It will now look like the photo, and you can see that the easel is twisted on the base card.

Step 6 Line the base with some pretty paper and choose the sentiment you need.
Mat and layer it onto some of the card and paper you have used and add it to the base on foam pads to raise it up.
This is the piece that will hold the easel open for you.
Decorate the rest of your card however it pleases you.
Use any embellishments that you have in your ever growing "Stash"

I have added flowers... glitter... pearls... and some

really fine twine wrapped around the Spellbinder Oval.
A really pretty Twisted Easel Card that can be for any occasion.
Have fun!

Here is a video tutorial done by Margaret with I Love Crafting  She has a number of video tutorials and she is easy to understand and makes it look so easy LOL..I shall see how easy this really is.

Grand Labels Four Card

Begin by taping the  LF-190 Grand Labels Four  #4 (#1 being the smallest) to cardstock aligning the folded piece of the paper under the to cut edge of the template.  Cut/emboss and then ink the die cut.
Next, cut/emboss S4-207 Kaleidoscope Pendant die template and then cut it straight down the middle.
I love how this die template looks like a doily.  Doilies are very fun to create with and often they are used with just a portion showing.  I choose to cut mine in half and then use both sides at either end of the card.  Ink each side of the die cut and adhere to the card base.
The background of my card was created by cutting and embossing a LF-110 Grand Oval #1 die template out of pattern paper.  Adhere it to yellow cardstock and trim close to the edge to give it a small border.  After inking, center teh oval between the two ends of the Kaleidoscope.
Stamp Gina K. Designs Lovely Labels stamp on to cardstock.  This stamp is designed to fit inside a  S4-190 Labels Four #5 but I wanted to use a smaller die template.  This brings the stamped image right to the edge for a different, but just as great look.
Using the Labels Four shape accents the orignal shape to the card and using this stamp allows you to have an open spot to put your sentiment.  After cutting out the Label, stamp the sentiment in the center and adhere to the card.
To create the roses, use two different sizes of S4-125 Classic Scalloped Circles SM out of felt.  Cut  from the outside edge in creating a spiral.
Using Zip Dry and starting from the outside, roll the felt piece in until you have formed a rose.  Allow a few minutes to dry.  Spray with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist, Coral Reef, Suede and Sweet Pea, and ink the very tips to achieve a more realistic and distressed look.  Embellish the centers with pearls and adhere to the card using Glue Dots.
Supplies:   Spellbinders Grand Calibur™,  LF-190 Grand Labels Four , LF-110 Grand Oval , S4-125 Classic Scalloped Circles SM ,   S4-190 Labels Four,  S4-207 Kaleidoscope Pendant ;  Worldwin, Oatmeal Treasures;  Clearsnap Colorbox Chalk Ink; Creative Impressions Bits of Bling Pearls; Gina K Designs Lovely Labels Stamps; JustRite Stampers, Kindness Set; KaiserCraft Trim; Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist, Coral Reef, Suede and Sweet Pea; Glue Dots;  Cardstock, Pattern Paper, Brown ink
Adding some three dimensional die cuts to your craft projects can be so much fun.  I hope you get a chance to try it!  Thanks for taking the time to check out our projects today!
